Shocking Business Statistics

79% of all leads generated at a trade show aren’t followed up.

Only 3% of our mail is personal…how do you feel when you walk out to the mail box and see a personal card addressed to you? Your clients/prospects are no different.

Average company loses 50% of its customers every 5 years…Cost of replacing them can be 6-7 times more expensive.

5% increase in customer loyalty will yield 20%-80% to our bottom line profit…Much wiser to spend money on customer retention than acquisition.

For every month that we don’t contact or communicate with our client, we lose 10% of our influence.

82% of all homeowners can’t tell you the name of their Realtor if they bought their home more than two years ago.

Just saying thank you to our clients…particularly new clients even with only a phone call to do nothing more than saying thank you…(do not try to sell on this call) it will increase your business by 17%.

95% of our customers will purchase from a competitor even if you provide a great service on an impulse.

So can you do something about these stats -- or is that just the way things are?  This  is a simple and inexpensive way to make all the above problems... just go away.

How To Be Interesting to People

I read somewhere that for people to be interested in you -- you need to be interesting.  I've thought about that and tried to determine what exactly does that mean?  My interpretation is that for you to be interested in me and vice verse, we need to know each others experiences and interests.

To move this idea forward I put together this list that probably covers about 98% of 'what makes me tick'.  I plan on using most of the list in creating labels for this blog.  Just as an easy reference and future use.

Introducing John Kirton and Kirtonomics

There are a number of John Kirton's on the Internet. However, I think that I am the only John W. Kirton Jr.  Hopefully this will clear up any future confusion - if not see some of the links and videos to the right for additional information on the who, what, why, where and how about me.

Now Kirtonomics...

You may notice that there is a trend of late with adding 'nomics' to various subjects, themes and peoples opinions.  Peruse your local library shelves or Amazon.com and you will find: Freakonomics, Emotionomics, Eco-nomics, etc., etc., etc...

In my search for relevance and the imparting of my vast experiences and thought processes - I too have a 'nomics'.

Kirtonomics.

My goal is for it to be a place for us to learn about each other.  A place where I will be sitting on the 'porch' of my mind and shooting the breeze with those who happen to stop by.  And a journey of emotions, experiences and possibly a touch of brilliance on occasion.

So welcome, take a load off and enjoy.
